We use current GOLD guidance to tailor inhalers to your symptoms, history of flare-ups, and individual needs. We review inhaler technique, device fit, side effects, and cost. Long-acting bronchodilators are important options; inhaled corticosteroids are added for selected patients based on factors such as exacerbations, blood eosinophils, and asthma features. Treatment is reassessed over time.
Respiratory infections can trigger serious COPD flare-ups. We review recommended vaccinations, including influenza, pneumococcal, RSV when eligible, Tdap, and shingles, according to your age, health, and vaccination history. Discuss the benefits, risks, and any concerns with us. See our adult immunization guide for selected recommendations.
